Bismuth modified gamma radiation shielding properties of titanium vanadium sodium tellurite glasses as a potent transparent radiation-resistant glass applications

This work reported the radiation shielding characteristic of bismuth titanium vanadium sodium tellurite glass system. The density specially-developed samples was increased from 2.21 to 4.01 g/cm3 with addition Bi2O3, despite fact molar volume is decease within 85.43–54.79 cm3/mol. WinXcom program used approximate effect Bi2O3 on gamma parameters glasses. μm values decrease increase concentration. computed data shows that sample 20 mol.% content has greatest attenuation performance in comparison other selected Bi2O3–TiO2–V2O5–Na2O–TeO2 system excellent neutron material high long-term light transmittance and discharge resistance could be potentially as transparent radiation-resistant applications.
